Kollywood has seen lots of horror films and sequels in the past. And Aranmanai 2, a supernatural thriller movie is the first movie of 2016 in this genre.
It is the sequel to the movie Aramanai which was released on 2014. The movie is written and directed by Sundar C and is produced by his wife and actress Kushboo under the banner of Avni Cinemax.
With a star-studded ensemble cast including Siddharth, Trisha, Hansika Motwani, Soori, Kovai Sarala, Manobala and Sundar C himself., this movie has one hour extensive good graphics.
Compared to his previous movie, in Aramanai 2, the director give more importance to the visual effects and graphics. The storyline of this movie is almost similar to Aramanai. Aranmanai involves a bungalow that is haunted. Murali (Siddharth) family coming to stay in the bungalow and realizes that it is haunted and raises the questions Who haunts the mansion? what is the reason? Why the spirit has targeted this bungalow and its family, forms the crux of the story.
The first part of the film wasn’t that appealing and also the main concept of that story does not reviewed. The director has concentrated more on visual and audio effects instead of giving importance to storyline.
Siddharth, Trisha Krishnan, Hansika Motwani and Poonam Bajwa are acted in lead characters in this film. Actor Siddharth has nothing much to do in the heroine centric film. For the First time, Hansika, the lucky charm of Sundar C, did a glamor Horror role and she gives an admirable performance. Trisha too is good and Poonam Bajwa expresses well. Manobala is a laugh riot and so are Kovai Sarla and Soori. Veteran Actress Kushboo plays a guest role is this movie.
The film's soundtrack album and background score were composed by Hiphop Tamizha. The background music is quite good as it keeps the people engaged in what is coming next. The music of Aramanai 2 is just about passable. The cinematography handled by U. K. Senthil Kumar is worth mentioning. Every shots creates a panic mode which actually made the film a watcable one. The editing done by N.B.Srikanth which is very sharp and clear and that is why the viewers feels the film as a horror mode.
On the whole, the movie is predictable, but deserves applause for the way it is choreographed and edited.
