M Raja's latest film 'Thani Oruvan' is a brilliantly executed action movie with nail-biting suspense that keeps you riveted to the screen. The film was produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh and Kalpathi S. Suresh under the production company AGS entertainment.
After the super hit movies Jayam, M.Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi, Something Something, Velayudham etc, director Mohan Raja surprises again with this thriller. The film is good in bits and pieces. Thani Oruvan's script is highly intelligent, racy and well-polished.
In 'Thani Oruvan' Jayam Ravi is a sincere IPS officer, Mithran. Roja' fame actor Arvind Swami has been roped in to play the antagonist, Siddharth Abhimanyu, an exceptional scientist who uses the medical field for the wrong reasons and his own purpose. Mithran’s investigation discovers the truth that Siddharth is behind most of the medical and pharmaceutical fraud happening in the country. So Mithran tries to ruin his plans. Will he be able to succeed, forms the rest of the story.
The movie seems like a mind game between Mithran and Sidddarth. Eventhough, In the beginning, the film is focusing on Mithran and his friends and their missions which holds the phase of the film little bit. There are lot of twists and suspenses and the film gets more thrilling after the entry of Siddharth. Jayam Ravi, the leading actor is apt as a police officer but it's Aravind Sami's performance that makes the film an extraordinary to watch. He has that gentleness look that the film requires. Nayantara is the love interest of Mithran also makes her mark. Model and Bollywood actress Mugdha Godse is cast as Arvind Swami's girlfriend and she also acts well. Apart from the leading actors admirable performances, the supporting cast fits in well too. Nasar, Rahul Madhav, Ganesh Venkitraman, Harish Uthaman, Sricharan, Vamsi Krishna have played their respective part in an efficient manner .
Hip Hop Aadhi's background score and songs are fresh and blends perfectly almost all the scenes effortlessly. Ramji and Gopikrishna handled cinematography and editing respectively and they do it very well.
Undoubtedly, 'Thani Oruvan' will also be remembered for a long long time to come!
