‘Poomaram’, Kalidas Jayaram’s Malayalam debut as hero releases today, March 15

After 2 years of waiting, one of the most anticipated projects Abrid Shine, Poomaram will hit the screens today. Eventhough, the film's shooting began in Ernakulam a couple of years ago, it's release has been postponed several times due to various reasons. The film is written, directed and co-produced by Abrid Shine, who previously made super hits like 1983 and Action Hero Biju.

Poomaram launches Kalidas Jayaram as a hero in Malayalam. Kalidas, the son of actors Jayaram and Parvathy, who made his debut with the Malayalam film Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal (2000) at the age of 7. He won the National Award for Best Child Artist for his performance as Appu in Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum (2003). He made his debut as a lead actor with the Tamil film Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum (2016), directed by Amud. Kunchacko Boban, Meera Jasmine and Manju Warrier also playing pivotal roles.

The story of the movie develops in the backdrop of a college campus. The movie was shot in different colleges in Kerala and it has even covered the MG University Youth Festival in 2017. The songs 'Njanum Njanum' and 'Kadavathu Thoni' has already clocked millions of views in YouTube Channel.

Poomaram is produced jointly by Paul Varghese and Abrid Shine under the banner Dr Paul Entertainment. The songs featured in the film is composed by Faisal Razi and Gireesh Kuttan while the lyrics are written by Aashaan Babu and Dayal Singh. The background score is composed by Gopi Sundar. Gnaanam is the Cinematographer and editing work is done by Athul.
