The trailer of Jyotika-starrer Tamil drama 'Magalir Mattum'
was released on Monday at the films audio launch here.
Directed by National Film Award-winning filmmaker Bramma, the
movie also stars Oorvasi, Bhanupriya and Saranya Ponvannan apart from a host
of supporting artistes.
Going by the trailer, it looks like a story of self-exploration
of three women who get to live life their way once with the help of Jyotika's
character.
In the movie, Jyotika plays a post-modernistic documentary
filmmaker.
Talking about the project, Bramma had told IANS: 'There
are a lot of things about women that need to be spoken about. Women-centric
subjects, in general, still remain unexplored and my film is an attempt to fill
the vacuum. While it's not an out-and-out women's film but it does feature them
in very strong characters.'
Although it's a story about a few women, the director clarifies
it's an equally important story about men.
'My film also stars actors such as Nassar, Livingston
and Paval Navageethan. While the spotlight will fall on the women, men do play
a crucial part in taking the story forward,' he said.
The film is gearing up for release in May.
