"Begum Jaan" fame actor Pitobash
Tripathy, who was present for the special screening of "Phullu", says
that the film talks about a very important topic yet doesn't seem
preachy at all.
"I really like the film. It's a funny, interesting and moving film
which gives lot of inspiration. 80 per cent of India's population is
from villages and still, there are some misconception among the people
about menstrual period and women hygiene so I feel, it will give good
message to people," Pitobash said.
The actor says the special thing about the film is that it talks about
an important topic.
"But not for a moment it looks preachy or like an educational
documentary. People will enjoy this film throughout but when they come
out of theatre they will take some good amount knowledge about this
issue," he said.
Sharib Hashmi, who plays the lead in the film, says he is very nervous
and excited for the film.
"We have been working on this film from 2014 and today is the day,
first time audience is going to experience our film. I am very nervous
at the same time excited for the film." said Sharib.
"Phullu" is about a man who makes sanitary pads for the women in his
village, at affordable prices.
"Dangal" actor Aparshakti Khurana, who was also present at the
screening, says he feels envious of Sharib for doing such relevant
films.
"It's a very relevant film. Whenever Sharib works in any film, it's
always relevant film. I don't know how he manages to catch hold of
these roles and each time brings natural performance, I envy him as an
actor," said Aparshakti.
"Phullu" is directed by Abhishek Saxena. The film also stars Jyotii
Sethi and Nutan Surya. The CBFC has given an 'A' certificate to the
film.
The film is slated to release on June 16.
