The new film, which will be released by Top Entertainment
in India Friday, tells the tale of six couples experiencing
the thrills and surprises of having a baby. It is based
on a popular book on pregnancy by the same name. The book
sold more than 14.5 million copies in 2011.
"What To Expect When You're Expecting" also features
Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn
Decker, Dennis Quaid and Rodrigo Santoro.
Lopez admits she didn't have to prepare much for her role,
thanks to her real-life experiences.
"My babies were three at the time I was doing this
movie and the memories of being pregnant were fresh in my
head, and I didn't have to do something totally different,
like the exact opposite of what I had experienced,"
she said.
"But when you hold the little Ethiopian twins you
can really see how easy it is to love another child who
is not yours and the entire experience was beautiful,"
she added.
Lopez said she wants to set a good example for her kids
in real life.
"I just feel like it's one thing you really want to
get right in your life, you can mess up and make mistakes
and do a lot of things. But when it comes to your kids you're
like, 'I really don't want to mess this up, I really want
them to be ok'," she said.
"I want them to be happy and loving and confident
and all the things that make a great human being. To a certain
extent as a parent we always do something that's gonna push
them this way or that way. But this is the one thing I really
want to get right," she added.
