At a time when new technology is changing people`s lifestyles
and when technical standards of movies have reached new heights, it is tragic to
see a film like "Aaptha" which is nothing but a below average movie
made by incompetent technicians.
How can you explain why an experienced artist like Pooja Gandhi accepted the weakest role of her career and a meaningless script?
Director Sanjeev Magote moved from Telugu film industry to make this worthless and tediously boring film which drags from the first scene to the last. The director claimed that he had assisted many top directors in Telugu, but it seems he is not a good learner.
The fact that he has managed to get a producer to back this project may speak volumes about his persuasive abilities, but the film reflects his mediocre standards as a director. He has borrowed many sequences from Telugu films like "Sri Mahalakshmi" and others.
While the director narrates a half-baked, unimaginative script on screen, his technical team makes the matters worse by doing an ordinary job. Cinematographer Babu takes out of focus shots, while composer Escar Mario has composed very ordinary songs.
The story revolves around Pooja Gandhi, who enters the film a few minutes before the first half ends. She is a village belle who comes to the city to study medicine. But she is ragged by four girls studying in the same college and in the process, Pooja gets killed.
Her lover Niraj Shah wants to avenge Pooja`s death. He woos the four girls and kills them one by one. The film is so boring that you don`t even remember the name of the characters.
Pooja has really perfected the art of choosing wrong projects these days and "Aaptha" is the best example. Surprisingly, she is not so good on the performance side also, while Pragna, Poonam, Manasi and Bhavya Kala do a better job as the bullies.
Neeraj looks awful.
The comedy sequences are forced in the film and, therefore, both Sadhu Kokila and Bullet Prakash look clueless in their sequences.
"Aaptha" is a worthless film. The film is not even worth a one-time watch. Avoid it.
