`Minminikootam`: A sheer waste of time
Minminikootam, about the stressful lives of IT professionals, disappoints.
It is difficult to understand how Kamal, a top ranking director of Malayalam film industry with 32 movies under his belt, could come up with such a dud that has obvious similarities with an earlier Tamil movie Ullam Ketkume.
Jasmine plays a Singapore-based IT professional who tries to have a reunion of sorts with eight pals during a friend`s wedding that includes the male lead played by Narain.
The absence of screen chemistry between Jasmine-Narain, missing storyline and seven loud songs by Bijbal force the audience to rush to the exit.
The director has loaded the film with a lot of oomph by showing glossy, skimpily clad females to keep a possible full front bench of catcalling voyeurs happy. Sadly, it fails to even entertain them.
Jasmine looks good in songs sequences filmed in pleasing frames, but it is too little to generate interest.
The rest of the cast look insipid, jaded and wasted.
Veteran Director Kamal is again back with young and upcoming stars for the
new venture titled `Minnaminnikootam`. His earlier films Niram, Swapnakoodu,
Manju Pole Oru Penkutty, Goal have become trendsetters. This time he tells about
the fast life, eroding values, competitive work culture of the present
generation with the young guns of the Malayalam film Industry -Narain, Indrajith,
Jayasurya, Manikuttan and Anoopchandran in the male lead. Meera Jasmine,
Samvrutha, Radhika and Roma forms the female brigade. The base of the film is the life of young techies generation, their joys,
sorrows and anxieties.... The film revolves around a group of youngsters working
in an IT park. Sidhaarth (Indraijith), a highly paid IT Professional married a

many friends -Manikunju (Jayasurya), Abhishek (Narain), Partha Saradhi (Anoop
Chandran), Charulatha (Meera Jasmine), Rose Mary (Roma) and Kalyani (Radhika).
They get together at Sidharthan`s flat for unwinding after a days stressful
work. Though they are thick friends, each of them has their own space and mutual
love interests. Some unusual incidents that happen rocks their friendship and
changes their lives altogether... Rakhuram produces the film under the banner of Neehar films. Anil Pachuran-
Bijibal again teams up for this movie. Story, script and the dialogues are by
the director himself. The movie will be distributed by Mulakupadam release.
