The sweet heart of south Indian cinema Simran with her mini
skirts, petite figure and impish smile made the good-luck charm for
many-a-producer.
Simran got her break in Indian Cinema when Jaya Bachchan saw her
anchoring Super hit Muqabla, Doordarshan's TV show on Metro Channel
a decade ago after performing on stage for her college. Simran debuted
with Tere Mere Sapne, a comic thriller, the first production of ABCL
(Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited) but unfortunately the film
failed to enthuse in the box-office.
She moved to south and got a break in a Tamil film ‘Once More’ with
Thespian Sivaji Ganesan, coupled with Vijay which was also a flop
but her next film ‘VIP’which was a hit starring Rambha, Prabhu Deva
and Abbas, created the image of a hottest sex symbol in town, and
after thgt there was no looking back. She became very popular in the
tamil film industry.
While most of her earlier films portrayed Simran as a glamour roll,
of late she has made even critics sit up and take notice of her talent. She
entered Telugu field by the film ‘Priya O Priya’ in kannada she acts
a film opposite Shivraj Kumar, in Malayalam 'Indraprashtam opposite
Mammootty.
Simran tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Deepak
Bagga her childhood family friend, in December 2, 2003. They have two
sons, Adheep and Aadit.
Simran has had the maximum number of hits to her credit."Kannethere
Thondrinal" with Prashanth, "Thullatha Manamum Thullam" with Vijay,
"Aval Varuvala" and "Vaali" with Ajith are a few of her hits, and
Kannanthil Muthamittal with Madhavan which deserve special mention.
