Singer-composer Salim Merchant, who along with Sulaiman Merchant,
has collaborated with singer Benny Dayal for an anthem titled '10 saal
aapke naam' for Indian Premier Leagues (IPL) upcoming 10th season, says
Benny has a modern and celebratory voice.
The anthem, launched by broadcaster Sony MAX, pays tribute
to the fans of IPL with an emotional message of warmth and love.
'Benny's voice is very contemporary, modern and celebratory,'
Salim said in a statement.
'His tonality and his vibe are very cool and also, we
go back a long way. He has also sung ‘Aisa mauka' about five years ago
when it was decided to do an anthem for the first time for IPL,' Salim
added.
The video of the anthem shows fans from across the country
enjoying IPL.
Benny, who considers himself a fan of IPL, shared that his
first cricket match was an 'IPL match in the stadium'.
'I think it is a fire starter to anything like that. It
is a sporting event and if there's an anthem like that, it is a fire starter.
It ignites the fire of the fan from within and when the anthem comes, people
know it's time to watch IPL,' Benny added.
