Actress Mallika Sherawat says it is important to break the
silence in many countries about child prostitution and the need to prosecute
the offenders.
The 40-year-old actress was recently invited to Amsterdam by the Dutch organisation
-- Free A Girl -- to visit their headquarters and talk about the issue of sexual
exploitation of children and human trafficking.
';It is important to break the silence in many countries
about child prostitution and the need to prosecute the offenders. Now it's time
for action' Mallika said in a statement.
The actress also features in a documentary ';Free a Girl';,
which was shot extensively here.
';I believe that there is a need to change the conversation,
to mobilise society to rally behind the girls that have fallen victim to this
crime, and to demand justice' she added.
