Debutant Vinay Govind `Kili Poyi` tells the story of two
young ad professionals in Banglore. Asif Ali and Aju Varghese playing Chacko
and Hari respectively, who are fed up with their boss and her tantrums played
by Sandra Thomas.They decide to call in sick, and go on a fun trip to Goa, when
they miss the flight to Manali. where Chacko ends up meeting a beautiful foreigner
.The rest of the story of Kili Poyi revolves around their return from
Goa, a mysterious bag of cocaine that ,through a series of events , finally
ends up with these youngsters..
Unfortunately the movie keeps reminding you the bollywood movie
`Delhi Belly`..
Director vinay`s first attempt is commendable. But the script is weak and is
unable to hold the attention of the audience. The narrative is quite predictable
and has nothing new or exciting to offer.The cinematography is above average
done by Pradeesh verma. Music and background score by Rahul Raj is good. The
background music starts off well,but it fails to keep up the standard through
the rest of movie.
The acting is all pretty much even. Asif Ali and Aju Varghese
commendable job with smart performances. Both seem are very convincing in their
respective roles. While the women shout and scream and bellow all the time.
All other stars have done a good job.The climax is brilliant and should not
be missed.
Verdict
With an abundance of smoking, drinking and crude humour will
might fall to draw family audience. But some catchy visuals with trendy costumes,
attractive women will certainly entertain the young generation. `Kili Poyi`
is certainly for youth ...a good part of the visuals have feel of a musical
album.
