T he Story revolves around three individuals, Manoharan (Sreenivasan) a wandering film director with his dream project, Rasheed ( Lal) an expatriate from Gulf , and Suren (Vinay Forte ) a typical Kozhikodan auto driver . All three of them are worthy citizens but get hooked with some unforeseen situational circumstances. As the story proceeds, the three turn out to be close friends who help each other loosen the hook and become aware of their follies.
Rasheed comes to Calicut his hometown from Gulf on vacation. As all other expatriates, he too has invested a majority of his savings on a commercial property for financial returns He befriends Suren who arouses Rasheeds hidden desires and helps him fulfil it. This is the turning point of the story that suspends all unwanted desires of an individual who yearns for a come back, to safegaurd the values and the ethics of a harmonious family life and the social status which he had so meticulously fortified.
SHUTTER, the film is based on the realities of middleclass Malayali livelihood, cinematically choreographed through the eyes of Manoharan the film director. The whole film pictures two nights and a day. SHUTTER is the first of its kind on celluloid to bring out a unique category of Moral Suspense. `SHUTTER` is a rarity of a film which exceeds expectations and offers a psychedelic high for the viewer!
