Samuthirakkani in Tamil remake of 'Maheshinte Prathikaram'.

When Dileesh Pothen's National Award winning film 'Maheshinte Prathikaram' is being remade in Tamil by Priyadarshan, Samuthirakkani will play the villain role of Jimson played by Sujith Shankar in Malayalam. Maheshinte Prathikaram is one of the finest films during recent years in Malayalam. Last Year, Samuthirakani had collaborated with Priyadarshan in Malayalam thriller movie 'Oppam' starring Mohanlal.

Samuthirakani, whose directorial Thondan released last month, is currently shooting for Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai starring Dhanush. The actor is also shooting for Pa Ranjith’s Kaala starring Rajinikanth, and wrapped up shooting his portion in Soundarya Rajinikanth’s VIP2.

Tamil film Producer-actor Udhayanidhi Stalin will play the lead role of Mahesh Bhavana originally played by Fahad Fazil. Namitha Pramod will essay the role of Jimsy done by Aparna Balmurali.

Last week, Udhayanidhi Stalin had announced that he would team up with ace-filmmaker Priyadarshan for the Tamil Remake of ' Maheshinte Prathikaram'. The movie will start its shooting on July 15th in Tenkasi, Theni, Madurai, and surrounding locales.
