Actor Arulnithi says there is nothing melodramatic about his
upcoming Tamil film 'Brindavanam' in which he plays a deaf and mute
character.
'It's not going to be a very emotional film just because
I play a deaf and mute character. It will have its emotional highs but at the
same time it will be entertaining. It's not completely melodramatic. These qualities
make the film family-friendly,' Arulnithi told IANS.
It's for the first time in his career he is playing such a
character.
'I had to learn sign language for 10 days from a special
tutor. Although I thought it was going to be challenging to pull off this character,
my director made the whole experience easy for me as he was already well versed
in sign language,' he said.
Director Radha Mohan had picked up sign language while working
on 'Mozhi', in which Jyothika played a deaf and mute character.
The film also stars Vivekh and Tanya Ravichandran.
Arulnithi plays a fan of Vivekh, who plays himself in the film.
'The film's most entertaining portion will feature Vivekh
sir. He plays himself and I'll be seen as his ardent fan. Honestly, I was quite
tensed to shoot with him but he made me feel comfortable,' he said.
