After Aamir and Salman, Akshay offers himself up for wrestler's role

Mumbai | December 12, 2016

It seems Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is eager to follow the path of B-town's Khans as the actor has expressed his desire to play the role of a wrestler like the late Dara Singh.
The Khiladi of Bollywood recently attended the launch of 'Deedara Aka Dara Singh', a book based on Dara Singh's life, written by Seema Sonik Alimchand.

When quizzed if he would ever like to play wrestler Dara Singh onscreen, the 'Rustom' star said, 'If Vindu (Dara Singh's son) requests me, I would like to play the role of Dara Singh in his biopic.'

'To be Dara Singh you need a wrestler's body. I have to change my body for that. I have to expand a lot more on the chest side because Dara Singh was a huge man and I have to justify him completely,' he added.

The 49-year-old actor also said he would need no less than two years of intense hardcore training to 'justify' the role.

'For that, I need at least two years of training to put on that kind of bulk and look like a wrestler. So if I don't have many movies, I can do it.'

On the professional front, Akshay will next be seen in Rajnikanth starrer '2.0' that is slated to release next year.
